Developed by Biofeedback Therapist Jennifer Stephens, M.A.
"Jennifer Stephens first approached me about her interest in the treatment of urinary incontinence in 1992...When Jennifer described newer bladder control exercises which seemingly offered a “risk-free” alternative to surgery, I was very interested if slightly skeptical. At that time, there were only a few studies which discussed “pelvic floor rehabilitation” via biofeedback techniques. Jennifer’s experience with biofeedback and her excitement over its use to improve pelvic floor strength and decrease incontinence convinced me to look further.
I decided to take a chance on this new approach to incontinence and was not disappointed by what I observed over the years to come. My patients were clearly getting better after seeing Jennifer...."

Frequent urination and overactive bladder for a year and a half, peeing too much, help!!?
For the past year and a half, it might actually be longer than that, I've constantly had to pee at minimum every hour or sometimes even less. I can get the slightest urge to go and a few minutes later I'm panicking cuz it feels like I really have to go, I'm not sure if it's a prostate problem or whY because I kinda feel the muscles down there tensing up and I feel like " omg I have to go NOW" and there's not much of a feeling that I can hold it for very long.Sometimes I get extremely strong urges and then when I get out of the car it almost disappears completely, or when I go, only a tiny bit comes out.I'm a 23 year old guy and I get so upset because I'm tired of being a nuisance on long trips or even short ones because there are days where I have to go about every 10 minutes.I recently went to see the doctor and they took a urine sample and a blood test and both turned out completely normal so I don't have diabetes or thyroid problems or anything. And I'm quitting alcohol because that only aggravates the problem 1,000 fold, makes me have to pee every 5 minutes, I'm not kidding. So idk what to do anymore about it Is there any food I could eat, should I keep taking multi vitamins every day, should I drink more, or what??I might see a urologist but idk when or how, cuz I don't have health insurance, my dad would have to help me work something out with his doctor.Any advice??? How do I get back to normal?? And also, after I go poop it also feels like I have to pee more frequently.
I think I've developed an overactive bladder?
I'm 17 and I noticed that as soon as I got my part time summer job I was peeing quite a bit more frequently. Now in the past week I've started waking up in the middle of the night because I have to pee so bad, I am a male, and the only thing that's changed about my lifestyle was getting this job, and all I do in the job is sit at a computer, is there any way to reverse this?
Is this overactive bladder or what?
i feel like my bladder is on overdrive. ever since October i know it was October because i thought i was pregnant that month because of the frequent urination and i was late, etc. my bladder has been on the fritz. i started noticing i was going more but it was only a little bit more and i drink a lot of water so i figured it was my water drinking. but now it seems to be ridiculous. for example, i woke up today at 11 30, and went pee. and between 11 30 and 5 i peed 4 times. like full bladder pee not just a tinkle haha sorry . i was recently at the dr's and they checked my urine for any infections and everything was good. so the only other explanation i can come up with is overactive bladder. how common is that at 19 years old? does it sound like i have overactive bladder? i mean i go a lot like at least every 2 hours, but it's not like " OMG i have to go now " urgent. it's just like oh my bladder's full i have to pee. any help would be greatly appreciated thanks
I've been urinating a lot lately, is it an overactive bladder?
I've had a urine test done recently, they said everything looks normal. I've recently been tested for STD's and came back clean. Haven't been sexually active since then. There is no burning or bleeding, just peeing often, yesterday morning was the worst. I must have urinated 10 12 times in 3 hours. The urine is clear most of the time. I have been drinking normal amounts of water and the only medicine I take is metamucil to make bowel movements faster and easier. I have an appointment with a urologist this upcoming Tuesday, and I'm a bit anxious as I've read it can be numerous things from a cancerous tumor to god knows what. Help I could use advice, I'm off to pee again Oh And it's not diabetes or thyroid because they've checked those with my urine sample help lol all i want to do is be able to sit through my English classes and focus
Anyone else have overactive bladder?
I think I may have an overactive bladder. When I need to pee, I need to pee right away. There have even been times when I didn't make it and had an accident. Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do about it?
What could be causing my overactive bladder problems? any insight!?
I'm 24 years old and for the last 8 12 months I've been having overactive bladder problems. I have other symptoms that could be thyroid related and I've already gotten 3 opinions on that. My levels for that are low normal. A 4th opinion will be in my future, as I know even OPRAH had to get a lot of opinions before finding a true answer.Anyways, I'm really not sure what could be causing it. I visited a Urologist and had some tests preformed. he found that after I void there is still a decent amount of urine in my bladder, so when I leave the restroom it's not long 5 minutes or less before I need to go again. He did a cystoscopy and did not find any signs of IC interstital cystitis , so he put me on Vesicare for my frequency problems. initially the 5mg helped, but I recently increased to 10mg and I'm finding no relief at this point. I', beginning to wonder if my problems are related to other medications I'm on.I'm currently on Lamictal for moods something that can be related to thyroid if that ends up being the issue. Klonopin for Anxiety. A very small dose. half a .5mg tablet 2x a day.Ortho Evra birth control patch. been on it 6 years, not sure if it could be related? ? and other than that I'm on vitamin D because I live in an area with little sun and fish oil to help with seasonal depression. both of these I started AFTER the bladder problems had already been happening.Does anyone have any insight or ideas that I could investigate or present to my doctors? I'm really at my wit's end and I already have anxiety, which is only exacerbated by the frequency because I have to pull over to use restrooms when I'm out and I no longer go very far from home because it's too hard.HELP
Pap Smear came back as "low grade abnormal cells" ... can this be related to an overactive bladder too?
okay, so I've read up a lot on the low grade abnormal cells and stuff. I am having a colposcopy in a few weeks because of it... but of coarse until then I have been worrying and thinking the worst. So when I originaly went in for the pap smear mind you I haven't had one in 6 years due to insurance reasons... oh and I'm 23 I thought I would ask about my overactive bladder too. I have been having this problem for about 5 years or so. It has gotten worse and worse and I am at my breaking point. In an average 8hr sleeping period I will pee about 4 times.. and on a bad night I will pee every single hour. AND I don't even drink any liquids for 2 hours before I go to bed. and I dont drink soda or coffee AT ALL. so this is just from water and juice.Anyways... My bladder tests are not until next week and then I dont get those results for another week or so. I'm wondering if my test results from my pap smear being " abnormal cells" can have any connection with my overactive bladder? Any answers would be greatly appreciated.. I have read and read about this stuff and I'm driving myself nuts... so please don't refer me to " google it" ... been there, done that THANKS
